Do the achievements of ancient Rome have an impact on the lives of modern people? What does our civilization owe to the ideas and inventions introduced only by ancient Rome?

Without the inventions left by ancient Rome, our world would have fallen apart. The achievements of the ancient Romans also formed the basis for European literature and modern legal codes. In addition, modern Romance languages, i.e. French, Spanish and Italian, among others, are largely a distortion of the Latin from which they originated.

The importance of communication in the development of civilization

Roman culture owes its rapid development to a well-organized communications infrastructure. The network of stone roads (some survive to this day), sea routes and developed administration allowed rapid movement to the farthest corners of the empire.
