Hungarian Bronze Age treasures have been unearthed at a found necropolis near the Hungarian town of Mány, west of Budapest.

Prior to the start of construction of a new highway in Hungary, archaeologists from the King Stephen Museum in Székesfehérvár began the standard excavation procedure to explore areas that would soon become inaccessible. Near the small town of Mány, they found a Bronze Age cemetery with eight tombs of people who probably belonged to the upper class.

In one tomb rested a woman who came from the upper classes

One tomb contained the bones of a young woman. Analysis showed that she could have been no more than 20 years old. She was buried along with many gold and bronze objects. These included rings, epaulettes, hoops, ancient hair ornaments and small ceramic vessels. In total, there were about 38 valuable items. Archaeologists found that the arrangement of the artifacts indicated that there was a ring on each of her fingers. According to the researchers, this means that she was a very important and wealthy person who lived in the region.
