Carrots with crickets printed in 3D? Here’s a new dish developed by Singapore scientists
Scientists have long been looking for alternatives to meat or other natural sources of protein. Researchers in Singapore have just developed a new recipe. It’s carrots with crickets printed using 3D technology.
Sir David Attenborough, the world-famous biologist and popularizer of natural knowledge, said in a documentary last year:
“We need to change our diet. The planet cannot sustain billions of carnivores.”
According to UN figures, as early as this November the world population will exceed 8 billion people, and by the middle of the 21st century there will be nearly 10 billion people.
Alternative protein sources can save the planet?
The current trend means that our globe will be exploited even more, and the demand for meat will increase. Recall that it is cows that emit the most methane, which is one of the gases that are largely responsible for global warming. However, this does not mean that only carnivores are “polluters” of the Earth.
Earlier this year, researchers from Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley, analyzed climate models and concluded that a…
