Drought in Italy has uncovered a 450-kilogram WWII bomb. 3,000 people have been evacuated
Europe has been facing an unusually severe drought for weeks now. Among other things, the climate catastrophe is contributing to the drying up of rivers, from which objects sometimes forgotten by history are emerging.
Italy has not seen such a dramatic situation in 70 years. Last month, the ESA (European Space Agency) released satellite images showing the scale of the problem on the Po River. The country’s longest river was almost completely dry. Experts have long been warning that these are the effects of global warming, and the drought could cause billions of dollars in losses to agriculture and threaten drinking water intakes.
