The International Union for Conservation of Nature publishes a list of organisms threatened with extinction. It was first published in 1963. Since then, nearly 60,000 species have been added to the list, of which as many as 20,000 are threatened with extinction. The main cause of extinction is human activity.
Extinct animal species: Przewalski’s horse
The species is considered extinct in the wild. The last wild horses were seen in Mongolia in 1969. Since 1990, there has been an attempt at reintroduction in areas of Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan and Ukraine.
