Imhotep’s Revelation: Delving into Ancient Egyptian Wisdom Near the World’s Oldest Pyramid
In Egypt, right next to the oldest pyramid in the world, the Imhotep Museum has been reopened. It was Imhotep who conceived the construction of this building. He was even dubbed the Leonardo da Vinci of ancient Egypt due to his visionary ideas.
During the first weekend of December, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities reopened the Imhotep Museum in Saqqara. Its renovation lasted almost two years and cost 48 million Egyptian pounds, which is over 6 million dollars.
Who was Imhotep?
Imhotep held key positions at the court of King Djoser (Necherichet) in the 27th century BC. He was not just an architect; he held several other titles, including Chief Seer and Guardian of the Royal Seal.
History remembers him as the mastermind behind the pyramid-shaped tomb. Djoser’s Pyramid, built over 2,600 years ago, was the tallest structure built by human hands at that time, standing at 60 meters. A bit later, a pyramid around 147 meters high was erected for Pharaoh Cheops.
