Although Venice doesn’t have the Colosseum or the Eiffel Tower, it’s one of the European cities that struggle the most with the influx of tourists. The solution to this problem is introducing charges for visitors.
Venice is one of the most popular cities in Italy. Tourists flock there, especially to St. Mark’s Square, although that’s not the only crowded place. Venice is globally renowned for its canals, where gondolas gracefully navigate. And for those who prefer to explore the city from bridges, the Rialto Bridge over the Grand Canal offers a breathtaking view.
Changes in Visiting Venice
Both the authorities and residents of Venice have been increasingly complaining about the crowds of tourists for several years. Usually, their arrival positively affects the wallets of local residents, but in this case, an excess of visitors has led to many grievances.
