Scientists have reconstructed the face of a Connecticut “vampire” who lived in the 19th century
The man was 55 years old at the time of his death and suffered from tuberculosis. He was buried in a manner that indicates the local population considered him a “vampire.” Now scientists have reconstructed the dead man’s face based on his DNA.
Griswold in the US state of Connecticut, 1990. Three boys are playing on the town’s gravel pit. At one point on the hillside they notice something sticking out of the sand. Childish curiosity prevails and the boys start digging to find out what the expanse of gravel hides.
Connecticut vampire lived in the 19th century
This is how they came across the first graves of local people from 200 years ago. The children notified their parents, and the parents reported it to the relevant services. It was soon discovered that the skeleton of one of the deceased, who was named JB55 (after the epitaph on his tombstone), had been cut up 5 years after his death, and the bones had been arranged in a chaotic manner.
His skull lay on his chest, his heart was removed, and his legs were arranged in the shape of a cross. At the time, experts believed that in the 19th century, locals feared that the deceased might return after death in the form of a vampire….
