Oman is a beautifully situated Arab country, stretched between a mountain range and the ocean. Tourists are increasingly visiting it to see the magnificent views, visit small towns and villages, hike in the mountains and canyons.

The Sultanate of Oman is characterized by a rather extreme climate. Instead, it is completely safe and hospitable towards tourists.

Where is Oman located?

Oman (Sultanate of Oman) is an Asian country located on the Arabian Peninsula. It is a member of the League of Arab States, established in 1945. The total area of Oman is more than 300,000 square kilometers. It is an unusually warm country, lying in a dry tropical climate zone. There are no inland waters, only the Indian Ocean bordering Oman (the Arabian Sea and the Gulf of Oman). The country also borders Yemen, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia. To the south lies the Ar-Rab al-Khali desert, and to the north is a mountain range. Most of the country’s surface, however, is flat. The vegetation and animals that live here are species adapted to the desert’s hot and dry climate.

The country of Oman is a rather exotic place, especially from the point of view of the European tourist. A hereditary monarchy reigns here, and the head of state is the sultan. Sharia, or Muslim law, is in force…
