The largest Christmas Crib in the world has been placed in Spain. It is truly huge
The world’s largest nativity scene is located in Spain, specifically in Alicante in the east of the country. Its dimensions turned out to be so record-breaking that it made it into the Guinness Book.
An integral element — without which it is hard to imagine Christmas — is the Christmas Crib, symbolizing the coming of Jesus Christ into the world. The most famous of them, as every year, stands in St. Peter’s Square in the Vatican. This year’s stable in the Holy See was prepared in the village of Sutrio in the province of Udine in northeastern Italy. Visitors can admire the Christmas nativity scene from December 3. The last day to see it will be Baptism Sunday, which is January 8.
The big competition — literally and figuratively — for the Vatican’s nativity scene will be the one on display in the center of Alicante, a city in eastern Spain. Indeed, it is the largest nativity scene in the world, listed in the Guinness Book of World Records. As of 2019, it has no equal.
