The War of the Two Roses — one of the most famous civil conflicts in history — began with the undermining of the right to the crown of the supposed rightful heir to the throne of England. The fighting between the two families claiming priority to the throne continued for 30 years. However, it should be noted that the conflict between the Lancastrians and the Yorks is the best confirmation of the validity of the saying according to which “where two fight, there the third benefits”, because neither of the warring parties came out of the skirmish victorious.
