The wig gives you phenomenality

We have been wearing artificial hair on our heads for thousands of years. Why do we bother with heavy wigs? Mainly out of vanity and the desire to cover up deficiencies in our beauty, but also to show our status, wealth, or even for a moment to become someone else.

It is hard to say who first came up with the idea of adding artificial hair. Looking at the masks used in ritual dances by various peoples and prehistoric rock carvings, we must conclude that this happened a very, very long time ago. Pieces of leather, hemp ropes, feathers and hair of various animals imitated lions’ manes and parrots’ tops. However, these “hairstyles” were not worn on a daily basis. Their purpose was to make the celebrants look like gods and animal spirits, to dehumanize them. Wigs imitating human hair are an invention of civilizations, in which human-like gods with perfect bodies and magnificent hair appeared, because hair has always been a symbol of vitality, strength, rebirth. In those times wearing a wig that made people look like gods was a sign of privilege and high status.

Divine and sexy
