Age is just a number. This was proven by two senior citizens from the United States, who toured the world far and wide in less than three months. Both ladies embarked on the trip of a lifetime to celebrate their 80th birthdays.
Travel allows you to discover the remotest corners of the globe, and on top of that it educates and develops you. Some people go a step further and believe that traveling extends life.
Several years ago, Finnish researchers found that spending less than three weeks on vacation per year risks premature death. The study, conducted over 40 years, found that “healthy food and physical activity will not compensate for hard work or replace a vacation.” The results can be taken as a reminder that vacations are not a matter of whim, but a necessity.
Everyone, regardless of gender or age, should remember the important role travel plays in our lives. Let’s take inspiration from two 80-year-old women from overseas who just returned from a trip around the world. The seniors accomplished this in less than 2.5 months.
