What makes someone want to change sex?
Human sexuality and sexuality have always attracted great public interest, especially when someone does not identify with the sex assigned to them at birth. Transgender people become objects of criticism, derision and even violence. They face even less social understanding than homosexuals, since they are a minority in a minority group. This widespread non-acceptance can be the reason for the onset of depression, suicidal thoughts or a tendency to abuse harmful substances.
How is gender created?
Transgender is a very broad term and defines both people whose psychological sex differs from their biological sex, as well as individuals who do not identify with either sex or who identify with both. People included in this group are primarily transsexuals (people with a strong desire to correct their bodies to correspond to the gender they feel) and transvestites (those who show a tendency to identify with a different gender without a strong need for biological correction). Due to the complexity of the issue, the article focuses mainly on transgender people.
