Trivia about rabbits. What should you know before taking care of a rabbit?
Rabbits are very busy animals that need a lot of physical activity. Therefore, although they are small, they need to have a lot of space. Moreover, contrary to appearances, they are herd animals. Rabbits do not feel best alone and ideally should have the company of other animals belonging to their species.
Are rabbits the perfect animals for a gift? Many people think so, based on the appearance of these small mammals. The fluffy, jumping balls with long ears are adored by children. However, when deciding to buy them, it is important to remember that rabbits — like many other pets — have specific requirements and require a lot of care.
First, they must have a cage that is large enough so that they are not cramped. Second, they need to be let out of their cage every day into a properly secured area to let them run wild. Third, they must have constant access to water, hay, herbs, which must be replenished daily.
Fourth, you need to make sure they feel safe. And ideally, they should also have rabbit companionship. Well, and — unfortunately — they don’t like to be picked up and cuddled. The situation when it can’t touch the ground with its four limbs is stressful for this animal. Below you will find other interesting facts about rabbits.
