Halicarnassus is an ancient city located on the Aegean Sea, which was founded by Greek colonists in Karia. It is located in the territory of modern Turkey, in Bodrum. The site was famous for its mausoleum erected in the middle of the 4th century BC. The structure is deemed as one of the seven wonders of the ancient world.
