What is the purpose of laughing?

Charming, compelling, affectionate, kind, shy, playful, ironic or dismissive. A smile creaks with shades of feelings and emotions. Sometimes it turns into laughter — pearly and contagious, though one can also hear a truly devilish giggle.

In most animals, the lips are not accentuated, and such turtles and birds, for example, have only hard beaks. So we are lucky — our highly visible lips can be used for communication. Their strong curl further emphasizes the contrast between the red of the lips and the skin. Since the thin skin of this area consists of only three to five cell layers, the redness comes from the blood vessels that shine through. In contact with other people, this color attracts our attention, so it is no coincidence that for millennia women have additionally emphasized it with lipsticks. Beautiful lips fascinate and sometimes also inspire artists. Salvador Dali in the 30s of the twentieth century designed a sofa in the shape of lips of American actress Mae West, while Man Ray, painting a giant surrealistic mouth floating in space, thought of closely connected bodies of lovers, while the ruby lips of Marilyn Monroe became an inspiration for Andy Warhol. According to anthropologist Desmond Morris, red firm female lips send clear erotic signals. And in shape and color, they resemble another female lip — the labia pudendi.
