White tea comes from the same place anyway — straight from the fields in China. The types of tea such as white, red and black do not mean different kinds of tea plants, but different kinds of harvesting, drying and processing. What are the characteristics of white tea? Time to find out!

White tea is a type of tea that is picked very early — when the leaves are in bud form. They are covered with white fuzz, hence the name of the tea. The buds are dried as soon as they are picked, and it takes as many as 80,000 of them for 250 grams of good quality white tea. White tea is the least processed of all teas and has a mild flavor and aroma. It is also quite expensive compared to other teas.

White tea is the least processed tea and, therefore, the healthiest, as it is made from young leaves or, more precisely, buds. It contains a lot of polyphenols and catechins, which are antioxidants. The main task of antioxidants is to destroy free radicals, i.e. the cells responsible for oxidative stress, faster aging of the body and even cancer development.
